b'Starlight Square sustainsOnce a featureless parking lot, this summer and fall Starlight Square became a lifeline for struggling Cambridge artistsartists and community. and arts organizations and a driver for local economic activity, bringing residents back to Central Square businesses. It is also a model for community intervention, as the Central Square Business Improvement District, with support fromthe City of Cambridge, the Foundation and our donors, and local residents, transformed it into a stage, youth center, public art gallery, and open-air market. Starlights continued operation throughout the pandemic reminds us of the joy and hope creatives, like the Haitian folkloric dance company Jean Appolon Expressions, can bring even in hard times. 13'
