Dear neighbor,

Eight-year-old Cece was on a mission.

Armed with her tried and true lemonade recipe and a handmade sign reading “Lemonade for Sale! Help our Neighbors!” Cece knew that she could inspire others to give at her neighborhood’s annual block party. She shared, “There are others who need things more than I do. I want to make sure that everyone has what they need. It makes me happy to make others happy.”

Cece exemplifies the best of what Cambridge can be – a community that comes together in times of joy and challenges.

Those challenges are intensifying. National policy changes are putting our most vulnerable neighbors into crisis. Our food pantries are seeing up to 100 percent increases in the need for their services. Our immigrant-serving nonprofits are working overtime to meet needs we never thought would be in our streets. Our vibrant arts community is once again at risk of being displaced or silenced. It’s hard to imagine what to do and how to help.

But we know. This is what the Cambridge Community Foundation was made for. It’s why Cece turned to us to help others. Whenever we see an urgent need in the community, we draw on our deep knowledge of the city and our long-term relationships to activate important partnerships between donors, civic institutions, and the nonprofit community. Now we’re bringing all our resources, both knowledge and financial, to increase efficiency and collaboration to rise to meet immediate challenges.

A gift to support the Foundation today will help fulfill that promise, and we hope you consider joining us to create a Cambridge where everyone can thrive.

Let’s join Cece in showing the best of who we are this season.

Thank you for responding with a generous heart.

Donate here.

Sincerely,

Phil Johnson, Board Chair

Geeta Pradhan, President
