In challenging times, the strength of a community is measured by how we show up for one another. Cambridge’s nonprofits are showing up—providing essential services, fostering connections, and ensuring our city remains vibrant and equitable for all residents, including our most vulnerable. Now, CCF is evolving to show up even more effectively for these vital partners.
Starting in 2025, we’re consolidating our Community Fund from two grant cycles to one unified cycle, with a goal of doubling our annual grantmaking. This shift represents more than just a change in timing—it’s a strategic move to deepen our impact and better serve Cambridge’s nonprofit ecosystem.
Currently supporting over 150 nonprofits across education, housing, food security, arts and culture, and other essential areas, we’ve seen firsthand how fragmentation can limit potential. Our new unified approach will give us a holistic view of Cambridge’s nonprofit landscape, revealing opportunities for collaboration that might otherwise go undiscovered.
The streamlined process will make it clearer for nonprofits to know when and how to apply for funding. But perhaps more importantly, it will create space for deeper engagement beyond the grant cycle itself. We’ll be better positioned to connect organizations with technical assistance, foster cross-sector partnerships, and develop strategic initiatives that build the capacity of our non-profit partners to deliver sustainable impact.
True to our values of trust-based philanthropy, community voices remain at the heart of our grantmaking process. Through our community review process, those with lived experience in Cambridge help guide our investments, ensuring our resources flow to where they’re needed most.
This evolution of our Community Fund reflects our unwavering commitment to Cambridge—to strengthen the organizations that strengthen our community, to foster collaboration that amplifies impact, and to ensure that together, we can meet whatever challenges tomorrow brings.
In Cambridge, we don’t just make good happen—we make it happen together.
